Khovahsh is super old & powerful. He's part of a group called the Dragonhead Ancients, who are really important in this magical world. They've been around for ages & know a lot of stuff. Khovahsh is supposed to do what they say, but he starts to think for himself when he meets Alicia.

Alicia is a queen, but she's not your typical queen. She's pretty scary because she likes to hurt people & drink their blood. Yeah, she's a vampire! But she also cares a lot about animals. She even made a special deal called the "Treaty of the Animals" to protect them. But here's the thing: she did all this without asking the Dragonhead Ancients or the Queen Mother, Armona.

Alicia also built a place called The House of the Hounds, where she hangs out with other vampires. They're like a family, but they have rules. She wants to keep the world balanced between good & bad, even if it means going after vampires who break the rules.

Now, Khovahsh has a job to trick Alicia, but he's not sure if he wants to do it. When they finally meet, things get really crazy. Alicia's life is in danger, & there's this bad guy named Muzzle who's causing a lot of trouble. He's mad at Alicia for leaving The House of the Hounds, & he wants to hurt her.

This story is full of surprises, with lots of cool characters & magical stuff happening. Khovahsh & Alicia have to figure out who they can trust and how to stay safe in a world where danger is everywhere.

What makes this book my fav is how it creates a whole new world for you to explore. It's like going on a big adventure where anything can happen. The characters are really interesting, & you feel like you're right there with them as they face all kinds of challenges.
