Black Shadow Detective Agency: Demon For Hire by Count S. A Olson

Black Shadow Detective Agency: Demon For Hire was depraved and gritty in all the best ways. As someone who is somewhat burnt out on police procedural thrillers after a decade of reading mainly that, i absolutely devoured this book and was desperate to get back to it whenever i put it down. The depth of characters, depravity of the killers, and perseverance of detective was matched to what I found in the echo man and i could not get enough. Also, it takes a lot to impress me but this book really had it all:

•Edge of your seat action

•Scary vibes that made my skin crawl

•Plot twists and craziness throughout

•Thinking you know where things are going but realizing you have no clue

•Interesting characters & emotional parts.

The story centres on the private investigator and her beautiful client Jamie who is followed by shadow men who want to kill her. They are what people think of when they think of witches that sell their souls. The Ladies of the River sell their souls to the Daemon of the Mississippi River. For that they receive powerful magicks, though it causes them to burn out quickly, without giving away major spoilers I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who loves dark and gory thriller mystery that really make you care about the characters, not to mention the serial killers featured which, in my opinion, give that extra spice to this book.

I found myself totally wrapped up in this family. This is the first book in a new series and I enjoyed it very much. There were a lot of shocking revelations that came to light. Count S. A Olson's writing skillfully maintains a high level of suspense, keeping readers engaged until the very end. I was hooked from the first chapter and hope this series continues for a long time. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes mystery, investigative or just an awesome all-around story. I can't wait to read the next book of this series Black Shadow Detective Agency: Infernal Angels and see where this book is taking me next.
