Roxolana's Rushnik: A brave Ukrainian girl's journey by Victoria Mriya

Delicately HONEST AND EDUCATIVE

If there's one thing I love about reading is the feeling of losing myself in another world, in another universe, in someone else's story, in some else's life and not mine, but also finding things, little moments of advice of insights that I know will help me in my universe, in my world, in my life.

Indeed, we will never know or even remotely imagine what war is unless we experience it ourselves... The story begins for little Ukrainian Roxolana as she is awakened in her peaceful home in her beautiful city with her family. Suddenly on her way to school, she is startled by explosions. This is a true story the book shares of the Ukrainian people caught in this war through the eyes of little brave girl and her family. Through this book we see both the darkness and beauty in mankind.

Darkness coming from each boom' and beauty in how people unconditionally extended their helping hand to Roxolana and her mom seeking to move away from the danger. What I took from this book, apart from all the knowledge about books and authors, is the power of eternal - Love and kindness.

One of my favourite part of the book is when Her mom looks at Roxolana and proudly says,"Soon the world will stop the bad man and we will go home."

"The other countries may not come to help, but there are millions of kind- hearted people in this world, doing everything they can for us. We have to protect them from the evil man. Our brave Ukrainians will stop him and we will go home. Soon we will be with Tato. Baba and Dido. We will see the sunflowers bloom again and the chestnut trees line the busy streets of our beautitul city.

Victoria Mriya & Anastasia Taran penned down her experiences and feelings in this book and illustrated what was happening and this book shares the rare insight from an individual's perspective.

Overall, it was an intriguing, emotional, and delightful book. If you like reading books about a connection with the real world, then this is your book.

Highly Recommended!
