Nocturnal Hours: Poetry by Ruqayya Shaheed Khan

•Cover page of the book is simply beautiful and the title Nocturnal Hours aptly sum up the content of this book.

•Nocturnal Hours is a beautiful collection of poems that describes pain and sufferings of a woman. There are lot of poems you will relate to.

•The poems are pensive, marked by a sadness or melancholy but they are not hopeless. This new book is stunning, both visually and in the depth of her poetry. This book is medicine for the soul.

•The basic theme of the poem deals with intentions, and mistakes and there is a touch of emotion in every poem. This book is majorly divided into three parts: troubled waters, broken compass, and the North Pole.

•The book opens with a beautiful poem named home. There is a powerful sense of justice towards women in some parts of the book, which I absolutely loved reading.

•Beauty lies in simplicity and that’s what the author has done with her work. The author definately poured her heart out. The poems deliver the message of healing through the pain. You grow through what you go through.

•The emotion expressed through words is impressive. The depth of words is maintained throughout the book.

•It's gorgeous. It's peaceful. It's naturally loving. You will not want to keep it down. However, I would advise you to read these poems just like you're drinking a glass of wine... slowly!
